Alley no.1

18x24 oil on stretched cotton canvas
$600 (email me if interested)SOLD
Any time I visit a new town I like to explore the heart of the town-back alleys, neighborhoods, local restaurants (no chains), no tourist traps for me. This painting is for my collection of Austin works that will hang at Magnolia Cafe in June.

Thank you Don, I really enjoy painting urban landscapes. They are a nice change from trees. I do enjoy trees too.

Wow! I love alley shots, and this one's got it all: linear perspective; earthy browns relieving the black/gray/white; which combination is made interesting enough in itself, by the streaking of sunlight and shadows; clear blue sky between and above the rooftops, reflected in the grays and shadows.

Great work!

Thank you A.Decker, it was quite a challenge and change from what I usually paint.
